​​On Saturday March 31, 2018 , religious and local political leaders gathered at the mosque for a foundation-laying ceremony for the nearly $3 million expansion, which will include an updated kitchen, missionary residence and two halls for men and women. The current facility will be converted into a multipurpose hall for Sunday school and other activities. ​ The plan to add more than 14,000 square feet to the Bait-ul-Ikram Mosque on Hedgcoxe Road is timed as more people — including more from varying religious backgrounds — continue to pour into booming Collin County. ​​ On March 31, 2018, at a ceremony attended by the members of the community and dignitaries from across the nation, foundation stone was laid for the expansion ​of Bait ul Ikram Mosque​. The ceremony was presided by Respected Ameer sahib, Dr Mirza Maghfoor Ahmad sahib. Mayors of Allen, Plano, Richardson and Dallas delivered felicitations. Presidents of all chapters of Ahmadiyya ​Muslim Community of Texas were in attendance in addition to ​President of ​Muslim Youth Association and several other ​dignitaries and community leaders. Dallas Morning News and CBS 11 covered the event. Alhamdulillah, it was truly a team effort and it was amazing to see the whole ​community come together to host this event. ​
