Imam of the London Mosque tackles Extremism | Leamington Spa

On Saturday the 24th of January, a peace conference was held at the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community mosque in Leamington Spa. Over 100 people attended the event including many dignitaries from the local area and people from different faiths and walks of life.  The theme of the function was to address the rise of Extremism, condemn the Paris attacks on the Charlie Hebdo offices, and present a formulation to attain Peace throughout the world.
The Imam of the London Mosque, Ata-ul-Mujeeb Rashed attended this event to provide key information about the true message of Islam and to eradicate any misconceptions that many may have given the current climate in today’s society. He touched on many aspects on the subject of ‘How to Attain Peace in the World’ and condemned the attacks on the Charlie Hebdo offices in Paris. 
The Imam said: “Islam is all for peace and the message of peace is to be shared with all the people so wherever this brutality takes place, irrespective of who does it, irrespective of the fact who is the victim, whenever the human blood is shed, we feel no reservation in condemning that.”
At the end of the conference, there was a question and answer session, where the guests were given the opportunity to ask any questions to the Imam that they had with regards to Islam.  
A dinner was held after the conference at the adjacent Royal Navy Club. 
The overall reaction was positive and many said that it cleared their misconceptions about Islam, and that it was very informative.
