Description

Write me down, I am an Indian Written by Ajmal Khan, a poet and researcher. He teaches at Ashoka University and Ambedkar University. Translated by Varun Grover, lyricist and screenwriter. Know the reason why Indians are opposing and protesting against NRC (National Register of Citizen) and CAA (Constitutional Amendment Act). Government of India wants to identify infiltrators who have been living in India illegally, to detain them and deport them to the country of their origin. Therefore to achieve the goal government wants to make a register for its citizens. The readers may think that this is a good thing, all Indians must support this process, it is good to have a register of its citizens nothing wrong in this. The readers must understand that India is a poor country, about its 30% population is living under BPL (below poverty line) class. Think about those who are empty stomach, from where they will bring the document to prove that they are Indian? Hence as per the government those who cannot prove that they are the bonafide citizens of India must be counted as infiltrator. After identification of infiltrators the BLACK ACT (Constitutional Amendment Act CAA) will play its role. Those Hindus, Jains, Buddhists, Sikhs, Christians and Parsis whose name is not listed in NRC (National Register of Citizen) will be able to apply for Indian citizenship under CAA by stating that they have been persecuted in Pakistan / Afghanistan / Bangladesh for their religious belief that is why they were forced to take shelter in India. Those Muslims whose names are not listed in NRC (National Register of Citizen) will be sent to the Detention Centre. Conclusion: Every sane person can understand the low criminal thought behind the ill exercise of NRC. This is a simple logic that whosoever counts himself as an Indian will claim that he/she is an Indian, but if he/she cannot submit the bonafide proof of their Indianess, at such, if they belong to Hindus, Jains, Buddhists, Sikhs, Christians and Parsi communities they should apply under CAA stating that they were persecuted in their country ( Pakistan / Afghanistan / Bangladesh) for their religious belief, that is why they took shelter in India. Hence those who claimed during NRC as Indian citizen now they should lie and accept that they are not Indian, but they belong to Pakistan / Afghanistan / Bangladesh. That means as per NRC every Indian whosoever was not listed in the NRC list will be counted as the citizen of Pakistan / Afghanistan / Bangladesh, which no Indian will accept at any cost.
